Jane Hare is an award-winning, freelance Producer, Director and Writer for film, video, multimedia and corporate training with 20+ years of professional experience in film, broadcast, syndicated and cable television and in corporate communications for Fortune 100 clients.
Jane regularly interviews corporate executives, employees, and customers to create high impact “scripted yet unscripted” corporate messages with a storytelling perspective. From CEOs to celebrities and at-risk teens, Jane has a way of making people feel comfortable in front of the camera while capturing important key messages. Born in Warren, Ohio, Jane loved television from an early age and submitted her first programming to the TV show "You Asked For It" when she was eight. (They wrote back to say it was "quite good" and to watch for her suggestion in a future broadcast.) Fast forward, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio and television broadcasting from Kent State University in Ohio and worked in cable, syndicated, public and live television in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Providence, New York City and Minnesota. In 2014, she completed a graduate certification in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Jane directed, produced and wrote her first documentary in 2004 about the role of Jacqueline Kennedy in the White House. The multi-part DVD was produced with financial support from Marshall Field's department stores and in conjunction with The Field Museum in Chicago and CBS News. After relocating to the west coast in 2014, Jane worked on her first short film titled "Black Christmas." In 2017, she worked on her first feature film "The Samuel Project" starring Hal Linden and Ryan Ochoa, directed by Marc Fusco, that was distributed theatrically nationwide and is currently available on Amazon Prime. Since, she has worked on award winning short films Cherry Lemonade (that screened at Tribeca Film Festival, IndyShorts, HollyShorts and many others), The Forgotten Place, Throw Like a Girl, SCARS, In The Deathroom (based on a short story by Stephen King) and VICTIMS. She is in pre-production on the feature film This Side or The Other. She also writes 9-act rom-com screenplays including Love Next Door and A Vintage Nutcracker Christmas (both available.) One of her next projects is a short documentary on her grandma, who at age 101 and with failing eyesight, is still painting. She currently lives in San Diego with her husband and their two pandemic rescue pups Margo and Monroe. |
